Senior Wellness Plan
PDF copy of senior wellness letter
Dear Preferred Pet Owner,
Good health is essential for a healthy, happy, long life. We will soon be sending
you a reminder that your pet is due for a wellness visit to our hospital. At the
time of your pet’s visit, we will also be performing a senior wellness profile.
This profile includes urine and stool examination, and we ask that you attempt to
provide us with those samples to reduce your pet’s stress during his/her visit.
You may be concerned about the stress of blood testing and radiographs, but with all
the modern advances available today, your pet’s procedures can be done safely and comfortably.
One of our knowledgeable veterinary technicians would be happy to answer any questions
your family may have about this procedure.
By sharing life and love with you, your pet has given you a precious gift. Now that
your pet is considered a “senior citizen”, you have the opportunity to give something
in return: the special care that makes the “golden years” happy and healthy.
Our pets are increasingly vulnerable to many illnesses as they reach their later
years of life. Their health problems related to advancing years are similar to our own, including:
- Heart disease
- Dental problems
- Liver disease
- Digestive disorders
- Kidney disease
- Cancer
Early detection and treatment of diseases can enable us to extend your pet’s life
and improve the quality of it as well.
The senior wellness screening for your pet includes:
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
White Blood Cell Analysis
Red Blood Cell Analysis
Platelet Count
Blood Profile (evaluates major organs, i.e. liver, kidneys, pancreas, etc.)
Urinalysis
Thyroid Screening
Radiographs of the Chest and Abdomen
The normal cost of these services for a sick pet is $XXX.XX. We have partnered
with a large group of veterinarians from around the country and will provide
this package of services for only $XXX.XX. If you choose to omit the survey radiographs,
the cost of your pet’s senior work-up will be $XXX.XX.
After the ECG, radiographs, and laboratory testing we will report the results of the
senior work-up and make our recommendations to you.
Your pet’s health is our primary concern. Please call us for more information.
Sincerely,
The Doctors and Health Care Team at Delavan Animal Clinic
